Description

C3yoyodesign - Accelerator (Old)

A 6061 aluminum version of the P. Wave, making superb performance even more attainable.

The Accelerator is the latest entry to C3's awesome cost-performance Essential Series. The body shape is based on the P. Wave, and although they may look identical, the difference in materials accounts for a 1 gram weight difference.

The lighter Accelerator combines explosive power with extreme control and stability, making horizontal, rejection and other 3D styles easier to practice than ever before. The body is wide but not extreme, making any kind of mount go down easily.

With its high performance and low price, the Accelerator joins the ranks alongside the Level 6 to become a new favorite recommendation for players who are new to bind response.

accelerator's performance

c3 has come up with some amazing designs since 2010. Later they started producing some budget models like the LEVEL 6(asuming that the name was inspired from an anime series),hoping to help yoyoers improve their skills. So far it has been successful, and now they're putting their new budget design to a new level--a fusion of craftmanship and speed--the accelerator.
They used the blueprint of one of their earlier models--the P wave to make this yoyo,so they have a similar feel.
For performance,it has good acceleration and a solid feel during play, but it is lacking spin time, thus hindering it's balance during horizontal tricks: once you've messed up with a horizontal trick, the yoyo losses spin dramatically. It really requires skill to cunduct a long horizontal combo(>15 sec) on this yoyo.
However, the yoyo can maintain it's balance well when doing normal combos due to it's weight. I tried a 1 minute side-mount combo(including speed, rejections and slacks)on it and, though it has lost a lot of spin,it is still spinning on it's initial axle.
For improvements,i think it should have an inwards-round shape(how Rewind describes it) to increase stability for horizontal play, that way the gyroscopic force will focus on the rims.
To conclude, the accelerator is a good design for a low price of $50.However, I won't recommend going to competitions with this.
