North Star
YoYoFactory - Northstar
The yo-yo that presents a whole new set of possibility with plastic, a new protostar has arrived from the north.
This is Jenson Kimmit's signature model. In a world where 90% of professional players choose full metal to be their weapon of choice, one Plastic yo-yo stormed on the scene and cut them down to size. That yo-yo was the YoYoFactory Protostar.
To put it simply, the Northstar is a Protostar with a little more junk in the trunk. At three whole grams heavier, the Northstar boasts a more powerful spin than its older brother. The only other major difference between the two is side caps have been flattened out in the Northstar. It has a distinct feeling to it: although it's still definitely a plastic yo-yo, it still displays the same abilities as a full metal yo-yo. Its weight gives you the chance to practice a slower, more deliberate style, but it's certainly not just just for professionals. Northstar gives everyone a chance to feel what it's like to throw a top-shelf yo-yo. We especially recommend the Northstar to those who want to practice their binds.
Certainly, some tricks are more difficult with a plastic yo-yo than a metal one, but a high-quality yo-yo like the Northstar doesn't suffer from any of these difficulties. It's a plastic yo-yo that throws like heavy metal. Are you hardcore enough?
*The Orange Northstar sold at Worlds was 67.4g, and the White version was 69.5g. Please note that both versions are now 69.5g.
