With a gaping wide gap and a small diameter, Magpie is a small but powerful full metal yo-yo.
The new brand "yoyofriends" isn't actually new, but has been lending a hand to yo-yo production for several brands. Now they are releasing their first model, the 7068 aluminum Magpie. The profile looks wide, which more a result of its smaller diameter. It feels powerful both in the hand and on the string, with a slightly larger-than-middle-sized 46mm width.
But the most notable element to the Magpie is its understated design. The gap design is set to 4.7mm, which makes the entire bearing fact available for play. The 7068 aluminum body means more fat could be trimmed from the side walls, making a memorable inverse round shape, improving the power and stability given by its thick rims.
The result is a beautiful, wide, smooth throw that delivers power when you need it and softness when you need that.
