The latest Puffin! Originally released in 2014, the new version gets a redesign with a high bumped response area and a super low edge.

The Puffin is the signature model of Pall Gudmundsson, also known as Palli. One of the main organizers of the World Yo-Yo Contest in Iceland, Palli is well known for his grind and slack combos. The third release of the Puffin series, the new Puffin is the same size as its predecessors, but with a high bump and low edge response area to suit his trick style, and to minimize sleep loss even more than the previous Puffins.

At this middle-size diameter, it's unusual to see a model with such a wide body, making the Puffin a treasured option. It gives you the catch zone to his those slack and grind tricks, but with the small size and furious power of an undersized throw.

The evolution of the Puffin has matched Palli's growth as a player. Always a wide return top to help Palli land his most difficult and acrobatic tricks, the newest version of the Puffin is the result of several years of conversations and refinement as Palli narrowed down to exactly what he needs on stage. The result is one of our most daring monometal designs, with a ton of rim weight pushed to the edge by an undercut that was intensely difficult to pull off.

The result is a truly unique return top that speaks to Palli's skill, daring, and innovation as a player while still delivering a degree of familiarity that lets you know you're throwing something from CLYW. We're very proud of this design, and can't wait to see it in the wild!
