Description
CLYW - Blizzard
CLYW's first foray into the bimetal scene!
This is the signature model of Andrew Maider. If you don't know him, you should; he won the 2015 BAC (Bay Area Classic) and the Northeast Regional contest three years in a row, and took second in the US Nationals. This is a landmark release for CLYW, as their first bimetal model, and they've put a lot of effort into making a flawless yo-yo.
The standout feature of a bimetal design is that compared to monometal yo-yos, it has a strikingly high power-to-weight ratio. You can have a relatively light yo-yo, but because of the combination of a light body and a rim made of denser metal, the bimetal design gives insane power and stability to CLYW's already impressive designs. The Blizzard brings new flavor to the lineup, but still tastes like the classic style brought by the Big Dipper.
Another cherry on top is the pre-installed Konkave bearings officially licensed by Dif-e-Yo. There's no doubt that CLYW puts as much love and consideration into the parts and details in their yo-yos as their design and construction.
Official Description
The Blizzard is our first bi-metal return top, and the first signature model for CLYW team member Andrew Maider. Andrew needed a yoyo that takes full advantage of the weight distribution benefits of stainless steel rims on an aluminum yoyo; something light, fast, and powerful that can meet the demands of this rising star. The Blizzard hits the mark on all accounts!
Designed by Andrew Maider and CLYW owner Chris Mikulin, the Blizzard has that organic, comfortable look and feel that we are known for, with a refined and modern design aesthetic and top quality fit and finish. The Blizzard is a truly modern competition yoyo for players who need that extra edge on stage…or anyone who just wants a little more power from their everyday throw.
