Description

Spin Dynamics - Monkey Fist

The Monkey Fist boasts a thick rim for superb spin and stability.

The Monkey Fist was first released at the 2012 April US NER (North East Regional) yo-yo contest, and is the 2nd release from nascent yo-yo maker Spin Dynamics. Its undersized (50.3mm diameter) body sports a low edge and a straight shape that runs into a thick, flat rim for an H-profile that gives spectacular stability and vicious spin. With a slightly heavy body for its size, owner Nick Gumlaw has tested its long sleep and clocked it at about 10 minutes, 30 seconds. It has a really nice weight in the hand, and you can really feel its power when you pick it up. Since it's an undersized throw, of course it handles complicated string tricks very well, and its stability lends itself to long combos.

For its response, Spin Dynamics uses Korean maker Shinwoo's P-pads, but they are also compatible with the YYF CBC Pads (large slim size). Since the pads are different thicknesses, the CBC pad may sink into the body ever so slightly.

Nickel-plated edition comes with a microsuede pouch.

Mr. Dynamic
Extremely stable, durable throw. Great looking finish!

This yo-yo is equipt with special stainless steel helicoil inserts, which have been threaded into each half of the yo-yo. This means you're threading a steel axle into two steel inserts when you screw/unscrew the yo-yo, giving a high level of stability that will hold up forever and never wear down. You cannot strip this yo-yo, period. The outer surface of the yo-yo has been soda blasted, while the inner hub was polished pre-anodize for a nice glossy look, great feel and contrast! If you're looking for a long-spinning throw that looks great and will play great for years, this is the throw.
