Its unassuming simplicity belies the Mercury's brilliance.
Bandai's Hyper Yo-Yo by the same name may be famous, but this full metal yo-yo from Chinese maker Top Yo is a different beast. Lacking none of the modern developments that have made string tricks the top game in town, the Mercury's step round shape is not to be missed.
It's biggest feature is the shape, where the raised response area almost gives it an H-profile. The
low edge and curved bearing keep the sleep loss at a minimum. The step-round shape not only looks sharp, it distributes the weight in a smart way.
Without any raised axle hub area, the center of the yo-yo is lightened, pushing more of the weight into the outer rims, for greater spin and stability. With so little wobble, you'll wonder how they managed to pack so much quality into such a low price. You'll have to pick one up to see what we mean.
