All customers outside of Japan are subject to be levied import tax or customs fees. Especially, EU, Israel, and Brazil customers!
You are responsible for paying the import tax and duties levied by YOUR country. This amount is decided by your government, so we cannot tell you how much they will charge in advance. Please be aware of this potential cost. We cannot accept any returns or cancellations due to issues with Tax and Duties. For more details, please check your government customs web site. It is completely out of our control and we cannot do anything about these kinds of fees.

All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
The Shift Change, signature model of Futoshi Maruyama, represents a new paradigm shift in off string yo-yos.
The Shift Change flips conventional wisdom on its head, and provides us a new yardstick against which off string yo-yos will be measured. Bucking the trend of "bigger is better," Maruyama wanted his signature model to be small, because this provides him the opportunity to perform a different spectrum of difficult tricks before unheard of in off string play. In response to his demands, this is what Japan Technology has come up with:
From the maker: "This undersized off string yo-yo is a complete 180 degree turn from the mainstream. The Shift Change was designed for so much more than the current set of off string tricks. The Shift Change is the high-end result of thirteen rounds of prototyping, featuring an incredible level of control and Japan Technology's signature design sense, with smooth play and recovery.
The weakness of having a narrow body could lead to fatal mistakes in off string play, but we set out to turn this weakness into an advantage. Rather than limiting players, the narrow design of the Shift Change actually gives them the key to a whole new spectrum of tricks that would be difficult or impossible with a larger yo-yo.
Moreover, while a large yo-yo may make some kinds of tricks easier, there is no trick that can ONLY be performed with a large yo-yo. Along with the risk of missing your trick comes great rewards, and for this emerging style that promises so much room for development, the Shift Change is the new all-mighty throw. In order to preserve top spin, we had to get creative with the profile design, and after some serious experimentation, settled on a design with extreme weight distribution. Since it's his signature model, the Shift Change ships with Futoshi Maruyama's preferred gap settings.
The Shift Change is machined to high precision just like a high end metal yo-yo, but it's made out of delrin plastic instead. On a molecular level, the plastic expands due to friction in the machining process, which makes 100% identical mass production impossible. The result is that the same data goes into the CNC, but the final product may vary in as much as 0.01~0.05mm. Considering we design our gap width with a margin of error of only 0.02mm, this variation due to the manufacturing process leads to a lot of extra time and material spent producing and testing our yo-yos to ensure you are getting a product we are proud of.
The Shift Change was designed and produced with a top players in mind. These players have a high sensitivity to the way their yo-yos play (not unlike high end 2A players), and so to preserve the right "feel," we may use thin spacers to make minute adjustments to the yo-yo's responsiveness."
You may wish to modify the spacers or use your own (you accept all responsibility for modifying your yo-yo or its parts).
*The Shift Change has been designed specifically with miss-recovery in mind. JT designed the Shift Change to bounce a certain amount based on the average heights of Japanese players aged 10, 15, 20 and 30. Dropped from a height of 2.6m (the average forward mount throw height), the Shift Change should be easily recoverable by players of all sizes without much difficulty.
